Professional background
Dr Creta is a Consultant Cardiologist & Electrophysiologist specialising in heart rhythm disorders (cardiac arrhythmias). He leads the Arrhythmia Services at UCLH and also works at Barts Heart Centre, where he is Clinical Governance Lead for Cardiac Electrophysiology and leads the Ventricular Tachycardia Programme.
Dr Creta is a leading expert in heart rhythm management and advanced catheter ablation. He performs a high volume of procedures each year, including catheter ablation for a wide range of heart rhythm disorders, as well as pacemaker implantation, cardiac resynchronisation therapy (CRT), and implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) implantation. His specialist expertise includes catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation (AF), atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), ectopy, and ventricular tachycardia (VT).
He offers advanced treatments using cutting-edge technologies such as pulse field ablation (PFA), leadless pacemakers, and 3D electroanatomical cardiac mapping. By utilising state-of-the-art techniques, he performs many procedures using minimally fluoroscopic or zero X-ray approaches to help reduce radiation exposure for patients.
Alongside his clinical work, Dr Creta completed a research doctorate focused on atrial fibrillation in patients with diabetes and holds a Master’s degree in Health Economics from the London School of Economics. His research has been widely published in leading peer-reviewed journals, and he has contributed to European Cardiac Arrhythmia Society guidelines on atrial fibrillation ablation.
