The department of Respiratory Medicine at UCH has particular expertise in the management of patients with bronchiectasis, respiratory infections (including fungal disease, lung abscess and opportunistic infections), and in conjunction with the Whittington TB service (led by Dr Capocci), tuberculous and non-tuberculous mycobacterial infections.
There is a dedicated respiratory infection clinic led by Professor Brown and Dr Capocci, supported by nurse specialists and physiotherapists, and with access to the UCH home intravenous antibiotic therapy service. Additional expertise in TB, infectious diseases, and tropical medicine is available within the trust, providing a comprehensive service for all patients with lung infections.
