We offer a full range of fertility treatments including ovulation induction, super-ovulation, intrauterine insemination, and in-vitro fertilisation in partnership with the Centre for Reproductive and Genetic Health.
Couples are referred to the unit from their general practitioners and we encourage that as many investigations as possible are completed prior to the first appointment (list below). Some fertility treatment carry a wait time including IVF, this will be discussed at your consultation.
Due to increase on demand for our IVF service, we may not be able to offer IVF treatment if referral is not made within reasonable time required to perform assessment and completion of treatment. Referrals should be made at least 6 months before cut off age. Please consult your GP about the policy that applies to your area before being referred.
Please note that at present we can provide IVF treatment only for couples who are registered with a general practitioner in the following areas: North Central London, North East London, North West London and South West London.
We are happy to provide treatment to couples who are not from these areas, however it will be necessary to get pre-approval from individual ICBs on a case by case basis.
The Reproductive Medicine Unit offers a range of surgical treatments that aim to help couples conceive naturally or improve chances of conception with assisted reproductive treatments.
You will be referred to our consultants who perform reproductive surgery (Mr Ertan Saridogan, Mr Dimitrios Mavrelos and Miss Ephia Yasmin) who will see, advise and perform the surgical treatment if appropriate.
We offer surgery for a range of pathology including fibroids, ovarian cysts, hydrosalpinges and endometriosis.
These are predominantly treated with minimal access techniques including:
- Hysteroscopic resection of fibroids
- Hysteroscopic division of intrauterine adhesions (Asherman syndrome)
- Laparoscopic treatment of endometriosis/ removal of ovarian cysts
- Laparoscopic tubal surgery
- Laparoscopic myomectomy
We hold contracts with Southwest London (SWL), North Central London (NCL), Northwest London (NWL) Clinical integrated care systems (ICS) to provide IVF funded by the NHS.
We apply to the ICS for funding on an individual patient basis. The ICS informs us how many cycles the couple are eligible to have. This differs for each ICS.
- SWL ICB consists of Croydon, Kingston, Richmond, Merton, Sutton, and Wandsworth.
- NCL ICB consists of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey, and Islington boroughs.
- NWL ICS consists of Harrow, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Brent, Ealing Hammersmith and Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster boroughs.
- Your ICB depends on which GP you are registered with. We are not able to provide IVF for couples with an ICB outside SWL, NCL and NWL so it is important to make sure you are referred to the correct hospital to avoid delay.
