Professional background

Dr Banerjee studied medicine at the University of Cambridge (pre-clinical) and the University of Oxford (clinical), qualifying in 2010. Her initial clinical training was in North West London; she obtained her MRCP in 2013 and completed her PhD in Clinical Neurology in 2019, at the Stroke Research Centre, UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology.

Dr Banerjee started specialist training in neurology as an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow (2018 to 2021), with clinical rotations at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. She continued specialist training as an NIHR Clinical Lecturer (2021 to 2025), with clinical rotations at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square. She became a consultant neurologist in October 2025.
