First results announced from trial of blood test for cancer

From Wednesday 13 May 2026, University College London Hospitals (UCLH) will begin securely sharing a view-only version of key clinical documents through the London Care Record. This will enable authorised clinicians across London to access relevant information when providing direct patient care.

This enhancement improves continuity of care by ensuring clinicians across primary, secondary, community and social care settings can access accurate and timely clinical documentation. It supports safer decision-making and helps reduce duplication for both patients and staff.

Dr Melissa Heightman, Strategic Clinical Director for Integration and Population Health, said: “Timely access to clinic letters, discharge summaries and diagnostic reports through the London Care Record supports safe, informed clinical decisions and helps avoid unnecessary repeat tests. When professionals across hospitals, primary care, community and mental health services are working from the same information, patients benefit from safer, more joined-up care.”
